There is a high need for food and financial support in Hawaiian Acres. Vibrant Hawai‘i has a network of Resilience Hubs around the island that are set up to provide food and financial assistance, as well as emergency response and disaster recovery. Hawaiian Acres has been signed up with the Resilience Hub network for the past few years to receive access to training and support to continue to offer food assistance as well as connections with our island-wide community of “doers” who want to work to create a more resilient and thriving Hawai‘i for all. Having a physical location again to offer additional support and connect with our community will be crucial to expanding outreach and increasing emergency preparedness during times of natural disasters.
