Food Hub Manager Job Announcement

HACA is seeking a Food Hub Manager to manage and grow our commercial kitchen, including agriculture production, processing and shared-kitchen management. The Kitchen Manager will oversee daily operations of the HACA Food Hub, including ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and successful implementation of community partnerships- while supporting entrepreneurs who utilize the facility.

 

Schedule and Work Hours:

Part-Time Position - 16hrs/wk ○ Hourly: $18–24/hour (DOE) ○ Flexible days and times based on availability

● Opportunities for expanded hours and future program development. ● Includes approved off-hour access to the commercial kitchen for personal food business use.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Membership Recruitment & Onboarding

Lead recruitment, vetting, and onboarding of new members, including commercial kitchen users and rental clients

● Serve as point of contact for member inquiries, responding within two business days

● Monitor and maintain required member documentation (GET license, Food Handler certifications, insurance, permits) Kitchen Operations & Compliance

● Oversee daily operations of the commercial kitchen

● Maintain compliance with Hawaiʻi Department of Health regulations

● Develop and enforce kitchen policies, scheduling systems, and safety protocols

● Ensure sanitation standards and equipment upkeep

● Support and supervise kitchen users Community Programming & Development

● Support development of grant-funded classes and kitchen-based programming

● Assist in building sustainable, revenue-generating educational workshops

● Help expand community engagement through food-based learning Leadership & Administration

● Supervise volunteers and coordinate communications

● Maintain organized records, schedules, and program documentation ● Submit accurate time sheets biweekly Skills/Qualifications

● Experience in commercial kitchen operations or food service management preferred

● Food Handler’s Certification

● Familiarity with Hawaiʻi Department of Health food regulations

● Strong organizational and systems management skills

● Ability to build and maintain community partnerships

● Proficient in Google Workspace and basic digital platforms

● Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Physical Demands: With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and mental requirements of this job may include:
